Membership – Application Process and Terms and Conditions

The Cabrach Trust warmly welcomes new Membership applications. The Trust has two types of Membership.

Ordinary Members

Ordinary Members are those individuals aged 18 or over who are ordinarily residents in the Cabrach and the surrounding area, which includes the Cabrach, Dufftown, Rhynie, Lumsden and Glass. Ordinary Members support the Trust’s charitable purposes and have paid any annual subscription fee (currently there is no fee for Ordinary Members).

Ordinary Members have the right to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) or General Meeting and have important powers in that they elect people to serve as trustees and take decisions in relation to changes to the Trust’s Articles of Association.

Associate Members

Associate Members are those individuals aged 16 or over who are not ordinarily resident in the Cabrach and its surrounding areas. Associate  Members support the Trust’s charitable purposes and have paid any annual subscription fee (currently £10 administration fee). Associate members are not eligible to stand for election to the Board nor to vote at any AGM or General Meeting.

Application for Membership

Anyone who wishes to become a Member needs to complete the online form or write to the Trust. Once the application has been received the application will be acknowledged and then in line with our governance arrangements your application will be considered by our Board at their next meeting. The Board meets 5 times a year and so we will be back in touch with you following the next meeting.

Membership cannot be transferred or assigned to any other individual or organisation. Employees of the Cabrach Trust cannot become Members or Trustees.

Membership rights

Ordinary Members have the right to vote on matters on the agenda at the annual AGM or other General Meetings.

All Members will be given one email notice before their Membership expires.

Members will not be entitled to any Membership refund (if applicable) once a Membership has been paid and approved.
