How would YOU spend the money?
The Dorenell Windfarm will generate ‘community benefit funds’ over the next 25 years. It is anticipated that the fund will be at least £354,000 each year (£8.85M over 25 years) to be distributed within the ‘area of benefit’ – which includes Dufftown, Glenlivet, Inveravon, Glenrinnes and Cabrach.
This is a real opportunity to shape these local funds so that they can be used to make the most of our social, economic, environmental and cultural assets and tackle community issues and needs. To not only improve our communities in the short term but to build sustainable communities in the long term.
The Dorenell Windfarm Community Benefits Steering Group is made up of Community Association representatives from Dufftown, Glenlivet and Inveravon, and the Cabrach and Glenrinnes Village Hall. We are working with EDF and have appointed consultancy STAR Development Group to carry out community consultation over the next few months.
Everyone’s views are important! YOU can take part in the consultation by completing the Survey on-line at:
Closing date for the survey is 30 November.
The results of the Survey and other consultations will be presented at a series of Drop-in Community Events in January:
Glenrinnes Hall Wednesday 17th January 2018 2pm to 8pm
Dufftown Memorial Hall Thursday 18th January 3pm to 8pm
Dufftown Memorial Hall Sunday 21st January 12 noon to 3pm
Glenlivet Hall Monday 22nd January 2pm to 8pm

PLEASE TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO COMPLETE THE SURVEY, AND ASK OTHERS TO DO THE SAME!
This is a huge opportunity for our fragile rural communities – we should make the most of it. Act now – complete the survey.
